I bring more than 10 years of experience in the mental health field, with a background that includes community mental health, private practice, crisis intervention, and embedded work alongside law enforcement. My clinical experience has included supporting people through everything from everyday life stressors to acute and chronic trauma, and my approach is integrative, drawing from EMDR, DBT, CBT, and other evidence-based practices. I also have experience with Medicaid-compliant clinical documentation and the practical side of maintaining thorough, ethical records within systems that come with specific documentation requirements.
Over the years, those different roles have shaped how I understand this work. Strong clinical practice is about more than knowing the right theory or intervention. It also requires sound judgment, self-awareness, ethical decision-making, competent documentation, accountability, and a willingness to recognize where we still have room to grow. I bring my experience and perspective into supervision as a resource, not as a template. I don’t expect the clinicians I supervise to practice exactly the way I do.
As a supervisor, my goal is to help LPC-As bridge the space between learning how to be a counselor and becoming confident in who they are as one. That means having room to ask questions, work through gray areas, recognize blind spots, strengthen competency, navigate ethical and documentation concerns, and develop the clinical judgment needed to practice responsibly and independently. I value curiosity, accountability, honest feedback, and being able to say, “I don’t know” without feeling like you should already have all the answers.
That philosophy is at the heart of Bespoke Cadence. Supervision should provide structure, guidance, support, and appropriate challenge while still being shaped around the individual clinician. My goal isn’t to create clinicians who practice like I do. It’s to help you become a thoughtful, ethical, competent counselor with the confidence to develop a clinical voice and practice that are authentically your own.
